Neurotoxins

Botox® | Dysport® | Xeomin®

At Skinlogic in Severna Park, MD, we offer BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®, the most popular and effective neuromodulators that use neurotoxins to address cosmetic and aging-related concerns to promote patient confidence. These injectables are safe and proven to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles so that patients can enjoy smoother and younger-looking for several months at a time.

What Are Neurotoxins?

Neuromodulators are anti-aging injectables that use neurotoxins to relax the muscles responsible for various expression lines. Neurotoxins are purified proteins that relax the muscles at the treatment site so the skin can rest, and in doing so, they restore younger-looking skin and a well-rested appearance. At Skinlogic, we offer BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®, all of which are effective solutions that can treat different expression lines and aesthetic concerns.

What Are the Benefits of Using Neurotoxins?

Adding injectable neurotoxins to your anti-aging or cosmetic skincare routine offers many benefits. The injectables are safe, and treatments are customizable, versatile, and comfortable. Other treatment benefits include the following:

  • Treatments are quick and take minutes to complete
  • The results are long-lasting
  • Maintenance treatments can extend results long-term
  • Results look natural
  • The injectables are relatively fast-acting

Before & After

What Can They Treat?

We can use BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Xoemin® to treat the most common expression lines that develop on the upper half of the face, but that’s not all they can treat. We offer other treatment options to meet the needs of patients with specific cosmetic and aging-related concerns and can use injectable neurotoxins to perform a brow lift, widen the eyes, and treat the following:

  • Bunny lines
  • Forehead lines
  • Frown lines
  • A gummy smile
  • Smile lines
  • Vertical lip lines
  • A dimpled chin
  • Neck lines
  • The jawline
  • Crow’s feet

The Lip Flip

We also offer a popular treatment called the lip flip, which uses one of these injectables to relax the upper lip muscles to create a fuller appearance. This treatment is an alternative to lip filler and can help patients achieve naturally fuller-looking lips and enjoy long-lasting results.

DAO

We ensure the accuracy and precision of our cosmetic injectables using a specialized ultrasound-guided injection process. For neuromodulators, we utilize this method specifically when performing a DAO treatment.

A DAO injection treats the muscles around the corners of the mouth that can often turn downwards during the aging process, resulting in an aged appearance. We use an ultrasound to guide this injection process, ensuring precision and optimal results.

Frequently Asked Questions

We offer three different neuromodulators, so if you’ve never experienced this treatment, you may feel overwhelmed about deciding which is right for you. Some patients may be better suited for one of these products over the other or benefit from a combination based on their desired treatment areas.

When you come in for your initial consultation, we will learn more about your treatment goals and desired treatment areas and help determine whether BOTOX®, Dysport®, or Xeomin® is right for you.

One of the benefits of this treatment process is that it’s quick. Before administering the injectable, we will cleanse the skin and, depending on your preferences, apply topical numbing cream.

Most patients don’t need this cream to endure the treatment comfortably, but some may prefer it. Then, we will make a specific number of injections with the right amount of product into the areas of your face or neck where you want to target expression lines, reverse aging, or improve your appearance. Once the treatment is over, you can resume most of your normal daily activities without social downtime.

After your treatment, there is no social downtime, so you can even return to work if necessary. However, it’s important that you keep your head elevated for at least four hours after your treatment, avoid touching the treatment sites, and temporarily refrain from blood-thinning supplements and medications.

It’s also important to avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours after your treatment and any environment that could increase your body temperature. We will give you details about post-treatment care instructions so you can achieve optimal results after your treatment.

Most patients only need one treatment to achieve their desired results. Once your results wear off, you’ll need to schedule a follow-up treatment to maintain your desired results.

BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Xeomin® are relatively fast-acting injectables. Within the first two to seven days of treatment, you’ll be able to see improvements in your treatment areas. Those results will continue to improve for the first 30 days post-treatment.

After your treatment, you can expect long-lasting results ranging anywhere from three to six months. Your results will last as long as it takes for your body to metabolize the ingredients in the product used during treatment. Once this happens, you’ll see your problem areas resume their pre-injection appearance, but follow-up treatments can prevent significant interruption in your results.

The best candidates for this treatment are men and women who want a long-lasting solution to treat aging-related and cosmetic concerns. Patients mustn’t be allergic to any of the ingredients in the injectable. Pregnant and nursing women do not qualify for treatment. An initial consultation will confirm your treatment eligibility.

BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®can significantly improve your appearance, make you look well rested, regardless of how much sleep you’ve gotten, and help you feel more confident in your appearance. If you want to learn more about these neuromodulators and how they can benefit you, we can give you more details at an initial consultation.
